Samira Shami

Prior to joining LAU, Samira Anais Shami taught for 12 years in the United States, and for 17 years in Lebanon and 3 in the Gulf. She also coordinated English teaching programs in the US and in Lebanon.

She has worked on an article on the movie Caramel.
Besides her interest in women’s issues, she is interested in student motivation and the dynamics of group work in the classroom.

After years of teacher training and of attending and presenting at conferences and workshops in Lebanon and in other countries,

Presented at CPLA conference on Assessment in Fall, 2010, on the topic of “Rubrics: Not Just to Assess but to Teach”

Presented at TED-X-LAU in September,2012, under the title “Write Your Own Life Script”

Attended TESOL conferences at the Arab Open University in Spring 2011 and Fall 2012.
