LAU participates in international programming contest

The Department of Computer Science and Mathematics in Beirut participated in an international programming contest in Alexandria, Egypt, in November 2008. The LAU team ranked 11th among 46 teams from 27 universities. Congratulations for a good effort to students Ahmad Al-Shami, Raja Baz and Kamal Mahamsani, as well as the faculty member who coached them, Dr. Faisal Abu Khzam.
The department is now organizing a national programming competition to take place in early July 2009. It will be sponsored by the LAU ACM chapter. Stay tuned for more information.
