Academic Computer Center

The computer science facilities in Byblos add up to about 80 high-end workstations running Linux, Mac OS and Windows, which are used for instruction and research.

The workstations offer the latest software for the above-mentioned operating systems, including the latest Linux freeware and open-source titles, various Microsoft tools and compilers, Mathematica, Altera and Xiling FPGA reconfigurable design tools, hardware description language compilers, and logic design and capture tools.

The center is supported by a number of file, printing, database and authentication servers. It is connected to the LAU network and the Internet.

Two multimedia classrooms with 34 Windows workstations and projection equipment are used for computer, business and English classes and training.

The center caters to students of all majors.
